Minutes of the meeting held on the 11.04.2000

Arno has given a short status report on the production in Munich. Mainly because of hardware (and software) problems of the cluster in Munich, the production had to be stopped very often. Only during this week actually it is finally running at full speed. Arno will now install the database also in Aachen, where new students should work on the project.
Guenther has given a short status report. Not much has happened at CERN during the last months, mainly because of many other things which had to be done (analyses, conferences etc). One bad news is to report, namely the loss of the full objy database at CERN, since in a crash of shift50 the disk which contained it got corrupted, and everthing on this disk got lost. No backup existed. The database was not reinstalled for the moment. Rather the database from Munich will be transferred.
The good news are that now we have Objy (vs 5.2) for Linux Redhat6.1, which should solve all our previous problems. The work on the read application has to be restarted. Dirk proposes to still use the ObjectSpace path for the inclusion of STL classes, but with the compiler flag which redirects to the native STL.
The new work on the read application should also check for memory leaks in the Fortran-C++ interface. Dirk has written a dedicated class for that purpose.
The work will not start before June because of other duties. It will probably be done by Guenther. Then also a better documentation should be provided. During summer two summer students will work on the project. Maybe also Andrzej can collaborate. He has written C++ classes which he uses together with ALPHA.
